Deb’s Handcrafted Soups

DEB’S HANDCRAFTED SOUPS

If you know Deb, you know she loves to cook! Deb grew up with her mother working the dinner hour (in a restaurant), and her father on shift work, so many of the meals were up to her. Dad didn’t much care what he ate, as long as it was hot, so lots of experimenting in the kitchen happened! Although he wasn’t afraid to show is disapproval when something was not up to his liking – ha!

Really REALLY good soup is an art in itself, and it is one of Deb’s favourite things to create. Clear soups, cream soups, chunky soups, pureed soups, mild soups, hot and spicy soups, simple soups, chilis, chowders, even stews (they count as soup here), and “clean out the fridge” soups – those are the best!!

There is no lack of flavour with various herbs and spices at the ready: parsley, oregano, thyme, rosemary, sage, basil, chili flakes, and even poultry seasoning – for a delish turkey soup!! And no soup can ever be duplicated exactly! Which is the beauty of it. Everything melds together to create mouth watering flavour. Adjusting and tasting, and adjusting some more. It really is more of an event sometimes.

Have a request for a specific soup? Let us know. Deb is always up for creating something new πŸ™‚
